The Naylor Amp Story - Tone Mojo at its finest
Naylor amps have been around a long time, in fact they were one of the first boutique amps that hit the market in 1993 really just after matchless.
Naylor was started by 3 guys Joe Naylor, Danny Russell and Kyle Kurtz. Joe was behind the look and design of the amp, Danny Russell created the circuit and Kyle was in charge of the financial side.
Naylor did not last long as it stood mostly due to bad business practice and bad relationships within the company. Joe Naylor bailed out and left the company to Danny and Kyle which Kyle evetually took over. Kyle was even less successful and really did not follow protocol as far as the builds. Suffice it to say it went even further downhill to the point of obvlivion. Kyle put the company up for sale and Dave King from Dallas purchased the line. Naylor suffered a negative stigma for many years with people stating that they were not built like the original Naylors from Michigan......turns out....that was true.
Dave king hooked up with
Rockett Pedals who were huge fans of the Naylor sound. Rockett Pedals had and have a good relationship with Danny Russell the creator of the Naylor circuit. You can probably see where this is going....anyway, Danny gave it a once over with Dave and they determined the cause of the difference in sound......one stinking cap value.
The amps are truly made as they were in Detroit and sound identical. I personally own one and my partner owns 2. There is nothing like the Naylor sound and anyone who has played one will agree....they are jaw dropping.
To add awesome to awesome Rockett Pedals has now taken on distribution for Danny Russell's own line of amps called Bletchley amps. Danny makes three models
1. Belchfire 45
2. Stinger 33
3. Bomber 50
We will have more information on these as we get further along. I personally own the Belchfire 45 and man it is a combination of many of the greats.
