Just got the Rockett Flex Drive recently and let me just say that I think the pedal is great. Once I got use to the controls on the pedal I dialed in some awesome tones that are very useful for me for my band. The Flex Drive is a perfect name for this pedal, it is truly a distinctive sounding flexible pedal. I will never part with this pedal. A big thank you! to all the guys @ Rockett Pedals and Wampler Pedals. Thanks for helping me achieve great Tone!\r\n\r\nJason Hobbs\r\nGrandFalls-Windsor, Newfoundland, Canada
T H A N K S I had an opportunity to dial in some settings the other day which I wrote down for future reference. Everything on the pedal makes perfect sense. You really can get what ever you need with ANY amp or guitar. AMAZING! My amp is very versatile as well so the other day I started with a really clean (mids cut/ low gain input) sound and dialed the boost and the burner to work with my strat copy with my amp set up this way. This will work excellent as a set up for my contemporary jazz/fusion stuff as well as a great blues set up. (This is the wetting I wrote down first) I will be finding new things with these pedals for a long time just like I am still finding new things about my Blueverb amp (that I have had about two years now). One thing I really love about your pedals is I can set my amp volume on 7 (where I can still get a good clean sound with the guitar volume down or with very light pick attack) and I can set one of your pedals to sound just like my amp on 10. I have never heard this from any pedal ever before now. AMAZING I played my guitar so long the last couple of days I now have another layer of calluses on my fingers. Another amazing thing not to be overlooked or underestimated is the fact that I am getting all this great, awesome, pumped up tone at volume levels that are really not that loud. This is a combination of the amp design and the pedal design. Everybody knows a 100w Marshall or Mesa Boogie sounds awesome cranked but where can you ever go to really cut those amps loose? I don't know how Blueverb does his master volume but the tone of his amp with the master volume down is also amazing. Tones are completely authentic sounding. Needless to say I have achieved sonic nirvana! T H A N K S Glenn
Yep. I'm ignoring the settings for now - I'm dialing in by ear as you suggested. The Afterburner is HOT. Love it. I can't figure out how I want to use the boost. I like too many different settings. Make a midi one, would ya? In other news, I've hired a producer and drummer for my project, so I'll be getting some tones with the pedals down within the next couple of months. I'll credit you in the liner notes, if you'd like.DB
Hi Jay,This are absolutely fantastic sounding pedals!!! They are not only the best looking pedals I have seen, more important, they are very rich and inspiring sounding. You have done an absolutely great job. Congratulations!!! I a remember well, we did agree that you would as well send one of your guitar cables? Can you please check and let me know? Thanks again and all the best, thoeny
Hey Jay, The pedals arrived safe and sound. The were almost too pretty to plug in. ... I plugged in anyway. So far I'm pretty damn pleased with the way everything is sounding. I am a little confused with all the switches. The differences in sound are major, but a list of some kind would make dialing in both easier. The biggest problem I'm gonna have is waiting for you to make me another pair for my other pedalboard. ... If that's the only problem, I'm not doing too shabby. I'll let you know of my continued findings. All the best, Alex
Jay this pedal has to be the most complete well thought out overdrive out there. Seamless transitions and tweaks for the whole range of top end, mids, thick and thin and drive range. Can get any guitar and amp together. Plus the clarity/tonality is gorgeous like the Boost of yours. This is a cadillac OD. Great useage of cut, clipping and mid shaping. I can't think of a more complete OD that sounds this good. Worth the wait. Cuts the live band mix so well, and is a blood relative to the Rockett Boost. Thanks again. This is really a connected pedal..
I got my Rockett Boost Pedal this afternoon! Jay, what a magnificent pedal and I mean everything the Rockett Box, rubber foots, decal, business card and especially the white gloves!!!!!!!! I'm using it right now because it's such a beautifull pedal!!!!!!!!!I'm now testing the pedal what a variation of tone!!!!! Phenomenal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I use it in combination with my Sadowsky basspreamp what a sound!! It' sounds like Marcus Miller in Treble boost!!! I love that transparant high and the Tone knob is super!!!!!!What kind of shipment is this because I don't have to pay 19% duty costs!!!! Or that comes later??????Jay this pedal is a very very nice workmanship!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Really I mean it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Thanks, many many thanks!!!!!!!!!!1You're a professional!!!!
Working with Jay and Chris has been a pleasure. Great customer service ! I have been using the Rockett Boost and Afterburner pedals for a few months now and they are stellar pedals. The workmanship is excellent and the sound is excellent. Thanks
I am a proud owner of Rockett\'s Boost and Afterburner. When it comes to grabbing only one boost and OD pedal for sheer performance, these are it. I get the most out of my guitar and amp with the two. Nothing I have has been so clear and yet kill. With time, I have learned that the Afterburner into Boost or either of them alone will cover about anything that I could want. Tremendous versatility, not to mention they are gorgeous. Connection of player-to-music is easily achieved with this setup. I am not good with describing tones, but I can FEEL the difference. I actually have become a better player after using them. The possibilities are tremendous and inspiring. Lots of pedals sit on a shelf now. Chris has been particularly helpful and has gone out of his way to make things happen. Thank you for all you have done.
THE SOUND IS FANTASTIC !!! AND IT IS THE MOST BEAUTIFULL PEDAL I HAVE EVER SEEN !!! THANKS FRIENDS !!!
BOOST PEDAL\r\nThere are innumerable benefits to buying the Rockett Boost pedal. Here are but a few:\r\n1. Truly the most organic clean boost I\'ve experienced;\r\n2. Better natural slightly overdriven tones than I could produce from any of my Tube Screamers;\r\n3. Dynamics come out like no other!\r\n4. Tweakability - Some players hate tweaking, preferring a \"set it and forget it\" approach, while others experiment and tweak till no end. This pedal accomodates BOTH approaches. The setting diagrams provided with the unit are fantastic starting (or ending)points, depending on your approach to pedals. ;\r\n5. Inceased Technical Ability: while pedals often mask mistakes and layer over bad or sloppy playing, I have loved this pedal because it reveals when I\'m being sloppy, allowing me to correct the slight mistakes. With certain settings on this pedal, the dynamics are much greater, and so truly stays faithful to the technical \"intangibles\" that provide a person\'s unique tone (i.e., how strings respond to your fingers, pick attack, etc.). My playing has become infinitely smoother and more articulate as a result of this pedal-- a truly unintended but massive benefit. Of course, if you want to mask horrible playing, you should break your guitar and produce all your tunes on a computer.\r\n6. Quality - truly the most carefully constructed pedal (from the guts to the finish) I\'ve ever come across.\r\n\r\nSolely because of my experience with the Boost, I have placed an order for the Afterburner. I imagine that whatever these guys at Rockett produce, I will buy because I have that much faith in their work.
Been through every overdrive pedal out there. There are good mild boost pedals, good medium boost pedals, and good high gain pedals but the Afterburner is the only one I\'ve ever played that is versatile enough to pull off all three flavors! As amp like as any pedal I\'ve ever heard! This thing is really put together as well. I swear I could drop it off a five story building and nothing would happen to it! Wouldn\'t want to though because it\'s also one of the nicest looking pedals I\'ve seen!
I just wanted to add my testimonial to the list, been giging with the Flexdrive for the past few weeks and this pedal ROCKS MY WORLD WOW!!!!I\'m a chicken picker and play Tele\'s through a reissue 65 Twin with Celestion G12 Century speakers,I think you guys have built the ultimate overdrive pedal in my honest opinion,I\'m really picky about tone and this little gem just blows my away,I can\'t belive how much gain this thing has through my rig it\'s insane!!!!I just want to thank Chris for all his help and for answering all my questions,Chris you ROCK my friend. You guys have a great product that I truly believe in, I will pass on the good word to all my buds here in Maryland and in Nashville and I will do everything in my power to help out such great people like you guys.Once again thanks to Chris,Jay,and Brian for making such an awesome pedal you guys ARE TRULY THE BEST!!!
